Partnership brings proven lithium solar technologies and large-scale BESS systems ranging from 200kWh to 5MWh to Greek and Cypriot markets with ambitious growth targets through 2030
Athens, Greece (July 22, 2025) — Meraki Green Development, a Greek development company focused on providing the best-in-class technology solutions to speed up the green energy transition of the energy and hospitality sectors, has announced today its exclusive distribution partnership with Lissol – Lithium Solar Technologies Lda of Portugal. The agreement grants Meraki Green Development exclusive distribution rights for Lissol’s advanced LiFePO4 battery energy storage systems across Greece and Cyprus.
The partnership introduces Lissol’s proven lithium solar technologies to the Greek and Cypriot markets, featuring Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) ranging from 200kWh up to 5MWh applications. The agreement, which entered into force on July 1, 2025, establishes ambitious sales targets with projected growth to 100MWh by 2030.
“Greece and Cyprus are experiencing unprecedented demand for reliable, large-scale energy storage solutions as both countries accelerate their renewable energy transitions,” said James McDougall, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Meraki Green Development. “Lissol’s advanced LiFePO4 technology and proven track record in commercial and utility-scale applications make them an ideal partner to help us deliver the storage infrastructure needed to support Greece’s ambitious renewable energy goals and decarbonization objectives.”
“We are excited to partner with Meraki Green Development to enter the dynamic Greek and Cypriot energy markets,” said César Francisco Magalhães Carvalho Da Silva, Managing Director of Lissol. “Their deep understanding of the local market dynamics, regulatory environment, and strong relationships with key stakeholders make them the ideal partner to introduce our advanced battery technologies to these growing markets.”
The agreement encompasses comprehensive market development responsibilities, with Meraki Green Development committed to maintaining a robust sales organization and achieving mutually agreed-upon sales targets. The partnership includes provisions for marketing support, technical training, and ongoing collaboration on market development strategies.
Lissol’s LiFePO4 battery systems offer enhanced safety, longer lifecycle performance, and superior energy density compared to traditional battery technologies, making them particularly well-suited for the demanding requirements of utility-scale, commercial, and industrial applications in the Mediterranean climate.
